If we need an urgent adjustment of our space to a new trend or just to temporarily please ourselves with some other colours and patterns, by changing the pillowcase, in just a few minutes we have, without a major financial intervention, a pleasant and new visual of our “old“ space in high quality.
In addition to a nice appearance and to creating an impression of comfort, decorative pillows are also very practical and they give any room in which they are placed, the irresistible charm it deserves. Although arranging a space with the help of decorative pillows requires practice, there are still a few tricks that will help us if we decide to decorate our home with decorative pillows.
1. The largest pillow should be in contrast with the colour of the couch. Therefore, a pillow in shades of cream, placed on a sofa or a corner sofa in shades of dark blue, is a great base for other decorative pillows.
2. The smallest pillow on the couch or bed should stand out the most with its colour and shape. That means, if the other two pillows on the sofa are square, the small pillow should be rectangular or have unique details like: fringe, crochet trim, unusual shape and colour.
3. Right from the start, stock up on several pillows of different shapes and several covers of different designs and colours, which you can then alternate in different combinations. Of course, it´s up to you to stack them until you get the combination that catches your eye the most.
And of course, follow the tips above, but don´t ignore your instinct either. If you like a certain concept and it gives you a feeling of comfort, then it is definitely a good choice, regardless of whether it is in line with the rules and trends or not.
